### Common Issues & Solutions

#### Snapping Not Working

**Problem**: Crosshair stays orange, not snapping to points

**Solutions**:

- Verify you're within 15 pixels of a snap point

- Check that measurements are visible (not hidden with eye icon)

- Release Shift key if pressed (Shift disables snapping)

- Zoom in closer to the snap point

#### Can't Click on an Edge

**Problem**: Edge classification not working when clicking lines

**Solutions**:

- You must be in the **Edge step** (Step 4)

- Edge Tools panel must be open

- Select an edge type in the panel first

- Zoom in closer to the line

- Click directly on the line, not near it

#### Can't Click on an Area

**Problem**: Pitch assignment not working when clicking polygons

**Solutions**:

- You must be in the **Pitch step** (Step 3)

- Facet Panel must be open

- Select a pitch type in the panel first

- Click inside the polygon boundary

- Try clicking closer to the center

#### Polygon Won't Close

**Problem**: Can't complete an area measurement

**Solutions**:

- Ensure you have at least 3 points placed

- Try double-clicking on any existing point

- Try pressing Enter key

- Try clicking very close to the first point to snap

- Check that you're not in Shift mode (purple crosshair)

#### Auto-Detection Not Working

**Problem**: Clicking inside boundaries doesn't create area

**Solutions**:

- Ensure all boundaries are closed (no gaps in line segments)

- Distance measurements must be complete (not partial)

- Click in the center of the desired area, not on an edge

- Check console for error messages (F12 β†’ Console)

- If it fails, manually draw the polygon with Area tool

#### 3D View Shows Nothing

**Problem**: Review step shows blank 3D view

**Solutions**:

- Verify you have area measurements (not just distances)

- Check that areas are visible (eye icon)

- Try switching to 2D view to confirm measurements exist

- Refresh the page and reload the measurement

- Check browser console for WebGL errors

#### Can't Pan or Zoom

**Problem**: Navigation controls not responding

**Solutions**:

- **Crop Step**: Pan not available (by design)

- **Measurement Step**: Hold Command/Ctrl to enable pan

- **Pitch/Edge Steps**: Use Shift+Drag when zoomed, or Command/Ctrl+Drag

- **Review 3D**: Use right-click drag or Command/Ctrl+left-click drag

- **Review 2D**: Use Command/Ctrl+Drag

#### Measurements Look Incorrect

**Problem**: Distances or areas don't match expectations

**Solutions**:

- Verify zoom level is maximum (23) for best accuracy

- Check that all vertices are placed correctly (zoom in)

- Ensure no gaps or overlaps in polygon vertices

- Verify pitch is assigned correctly (affects area calculation)

- Compare with manual calculations (distance in feet, area in sq ft)

#### Auto-Save Not Working

**Problem**: Progress is lost when returning

**Solutions**:

- Check internet connection (Firebase requires connectivity)

- Verify you're logged in properly

- Don't close browser tab immediately after changes

- Wait 2-3 seconds after each major change

- Check for unsaved changes indicator (dot next to report name)

#### Keyboard Shortcuts Not Working

**Problem**: Ctrl+Z, Enter, Esc not responding

**Solutions**:

- Click on the map area first (ensure focus)

- Check if a text input is focused (report name, etc.)

- Verify correct modifier key (Ctrl on Windows, Cmd on Mac)

- Try clicking outside any panels first

- Refresh page if shortcuts are globally broken
